Tracking Exercise in Goalposts

Users we have talked to are amazed at all the different things they can track with Goalposts. It was suggested to us, that we create a series of blog posts on the different ways the app can be used. We really liked the idea so here we go.

There are so many ways to use Goalposts to help you reach your goals. You do not have to have a specific goal. You can use the app to track time, calories, weight, money, and so much more.  The list goes on and on!  Let’s start with an “at least/up to” goal

I chose an exercise goal first because it seems that a lot of people these days are exercising and trying to maintain a healthy body. I love to exercise myself and know how easy it can be to get off track.  I am also a bit of a competitor (even with myself), so when I look at the app I like to see that I am on track for the week.  To begin, you will want to decide what you want your goal to be.  We will use my goal of at least 40 minutes a day, five times a week.

  1. Tap the “+” at the bottom center of the home screen
  2. Tap the white “+” to define your new goal
  3. Under “Identity” you will name your goal, choose the icon (tap the flag), and choose your color
  4. Under “Description” you will choose the green arrow for “at least/up to”, enter the time you would like to exercise, then choose your time period under “daily” and “everyday”
  5. Under “Tracking” make sure you have “total entries for me” checked (this will total your time to track whether you are meeting your goal or not)

You can also add any extras you might want.  Just play around and see what works best for you.  Remember, you can always edit and change your goal whenever you need to.

This is just one example of how to use an “at least/up to” goal.  I look forward to showing you the many other ways you can use Goalposts!  You will be surprised to see how I use the app to keep up with all I need to do.  I would also like to hear from you!  Please let us know some of the things you track.  I bet there are many great ideas out there!

You may have noticed that it’s been a little quiet around here lately. There’s a reason for that. For the last several months we’ve been hard at work on our second app. It’s finally finished and awaiting review by the fine folks at Apple. We’re hopeful that process won’t take too long and we can officially announce it soon. In the meantime, we’ve not forgotten about all of our Super Spellers! We hope to get an update ready for Super Speller very soon now too.

Keep an eye on our blog here for announcements soon. Now it’s back to work!
